My goal 400 km | Reached 0%

In June 2024 I will be running across the Netherlands from the most eastern to the most western point. Day 1 will begin in Bad Nieuweschans and Day 7 will finish on the Belgian border-town of Sint Anna ter Muiden.

This big adventure will be an opportunity to raise money for Stichting MIND and the Prinses Beatrix Spierfonds. These two causes hold an important place in my heart and I am glad to be able to support those who fall into these demographics.

I will be fortunate enough to see a huge portion of the country I now call home, and will be able to do so with the help of two dear friends. By bike they will help carry supplies, aid in navigation and keep spirits high when I will be at my lowest.

Completing this great feat won’t provide a profound solution for the terrible things that can come with mental health deficits or with life-changing muscular conditions, but I hope the event will help inspire others to strive for more in life and continue fighting for those in need.

Rotterdam Marathon Business Relay 2024

15-04-2024 | 13:43 I had the pleasure of participating in the Rotterdam Marathon Business Relay on behalf of the company I work for, and what a lively event it was! The 42.2km course wound its way through the streets of Rotterdam, providing a scenic backdrop for the race. My colleague covered the first 21.1km over the Erasmusbrug, through Feijenoord, Zuiderpark and eventually handed the baton over to me to continue the remainder.  The second half of the course took me past Maashaven, back across the Erasmusbrug, through Blaak and around Kralingen until I finished back in the centre just shy of Rotterdam Centraal. Training has been tough, there's no denying that. But all those kilometers are really paying off as I crossed the finish line with a new half-marathon personal best. The atmosphere at the race was electric, with runners from all over the world coming together to tackle the challenge. It truly is the best marathon the the Netherlands. With just a couple months until the Crossing Nederland challenge, I'm more motivated than ever to push myself to new limits and achieve my goals.
